Piet Rampai Poetry on Death and Dying

Born in the Northern Free State province of South Africa poet Piet Rampai explores death and dying in his thought provoking Poetry.

SOUL FOR SALE
I’m hoping I can stay out of jail
So I’m putting my IF I DIE
If I die today would you remember me
Remember how I used to be,
Remember how I used to talk,
And also the way I used to walk
If I die would you remember the poems I wrote
How I so wanted my future to get bright
How I always used to show my love
Plus all the times I pray to the above
If I die would you remember my brown eyes
And all my cries
How I always used to use my heart
Just to have it torn apart
If I die would you remember my last kiss
And would I be the one you miss
All the jokes I used to tell
How the depression made me not feel so well
Don’t worry it’s not time for me to say bye
I just wanted to know IF I DIEy soul for sale
But it’s not for cheap it’s going to cost
I’m not worried everything else I lost
Going to start by a million cash every year
And have nothing to cause no fear
I must live till I’m 99
And get back all that was mine
End up having a happy life
Also may me a good loving wife
Be able to buy me a nice big house
Big enough to give my kids their own rooms
and one for me and my future wife
And to be able to get rid of my depression
Have enough money so I won’t need a profession
Be able to publish my poetry book
And to have a better look
To be able to start my life over again
Just so maybe I can be happy then

IF I DIE
If I die today would you remember me
Remember how I used to be,
Remember how I used to talk,
And also the way I used to walk
If I die would you remember the poems I wrote
How I so wanted my future to get bright
How I always used to show my love
Plus all the times I pray to the above
If I die would you remember my brown eyes
And all my cries
How I always used to use my heart
Just to have it torn apart
If I die would you remember my last kiss
And would I be the one you miss
All the jokes I used to tell
How the depression made me not feel so well
Don’t worry it’s not time for me to say bye
I just wanted to know IF I DIE

DIE TRYING….
Lost in the struggle and I’m not lying
Plan to be immortal and I’ll die trying
Continue to cast aside the words that I’m saying
I’m fizzing off the top like a soda pop and I’m not playing
Is it a curse or a blessing?
Silver tongue,I always find the words
to let the stress in my dick and in the dirt
It’s so hard being trapped in my mind
Feel locked away and committed no crime
I just want my time to shine
Burning out like a lighting bug in a jar
Singing inside but the noise don’t carry too far
Busting my balls inside sound proof glass wall
Restoring to words of wisdom in bathroom stalls
