Awaken a Reddish Haze

(Pantoum Form Poetry)

Ken Allan Dronsfield Poetry

Nocturnal shadow, rise with the Flamingo
charmed by the sunrise a reddish haze smiles.
Prone upon the pillow cherished teacup pouts
hushed morning sonnet whispers at my window.

charmed by the sunrise a reddish haze smiles
Dreams left to wander my fan begins the day
hushed morning sonnet whispers at my window
humidity now departing the sea birds serenade.

Dreams left to wander my fan begins the day
Sand dunes twinkle like diamonds sparkling
humidity now departing the sea birds serenade
grasses flow serenely terns hover surf-side.

Sand dunes twinkle like diamonds sparkling
Mild on shore winds as hot water is now ready
grasses flow serenely terns hover surf-side.
a royal blend steeping; cherished teapot grins.

Mild on shore winds as hot water is now ready
My Siamese cat yawns, awake for another day
a royal blend steeping; cherished teapot grins.
the tea tastes sublime; awaken a reddish haze.

Shimmers

clustering wildflowers

unkempt in meadows

alder leaves shimmer

like wings of teal flying

winding along the river

dandelions dreaming

a red rose promised

rust devours a tractor

broken old tree swing

clusters of wildflowers

by an unkempt garden

tears of a homestead

free-fall unto memory.

Firefly

You can steal away with my sun;

but never take the sky from me.

Green the grass with gentle rains

inspire adventures in soft breezes

keep me warm on autumn nights

kissing stars in a twinkling flourish

my small flash can touch your soul

allow me life for a moment in time

cherish us as we’ll be gone soon

that illuminated waltz of the firefly.

The Cellaring: Poems from a Darkling Side of the Shadowed Mind

  • Hauntingly beautiful and captivating

  • I purchased the book and have thoroughly enjoyed reading it many times

  • explicit terror that vengefully rapes the earth of lost souls and deliberately opposes the light
